The story
behind Ekaaya

Every school begins with a belief.

Ours began with a simple question:

What if education could nurture not only knowledge, but also capable minds, compassionate hearts, and conscious individuals?

That question became the foundation of Ekaaya A Place of Becoming.

A story of evolution

Ekaaya was not built just on theory, but on years of deep, hands-on experience, learning, and working alongside children and educators. It is a story of evolution - a shift from the rigid structures of "schooling" to the transformative power of an environment built on trust, curiosity, and purpose.

Through this journey, we discovered a fundamental truth: when you replace control with trust, you don’t just teach children; you empower them.

1
The Shift:

We believe education should move beyond the transmission of information to create space for inquiry, self-discovery, and meaningful growth.

2
The Foundation:

By grounding our work in trust, respect, and meaningful relationships, we create a space where children feel safe to explore, express themselves, and grow with confidence.

3
The Purpose:

We believe education’s highest calling extends beyond academic success to helping young people lead joyful, purposeful, and meaningful lives.

4
The Ekaaya Promise:

We don’t just prepare children for the world; we trust them to make their place within it.

The future we imagine

To nurture conscious, competent, and compassionate individuals who lead purposeful lives and create meaningful, responsible impact in an interconnected world.

the mission

How we bring it to life

To provide an authentic, future-focused education enriched through a distinctive and transformative framework integrating design thinking, enterprise learning, community engagement, and reflective practice, developing internationally minded students who think deeply, act responsibly, and contribute meaningfully as lifelong learners.

the people who began it

Three journeys that arrived at the same conviction.

Ekaaya did not start as a school. It started as something each of them kept noticing, in villages and boardrooms and clinics and classrooms, until building it became unavoidable.

The promise of Ekaaya

Four interconnected dimensions that shape the culture, experiences, and identity of our school.

Heart

Students at the Centre

Every decision begins with the well-being, growth, and development of our students. We strive to create an environment where every child feels safe, valued, understood, and empowered to thrive.

Mind

Values & Culture

Guided by respect, integrity, equity, joy, compassion, and excellence, our culture is built on trust, belonging, growth, and meaningful relationships that shape everyday life at Ekaaya.

Body

Curriculum & Experiences

A comprehensive academic curriculum enriched through the I-ACT programme, alongside wellrounded sports, arts, and social-emotional learning (SEL) frameworks. Students engage in rigorous, real-world experiences that develop competence, character, and agency.

Soul

Community, Connection & Joy

The spirit of Ekaaya lies in the relationships we nurture, the sense of belonging we create, and the joy that makes learning meaningful, memorable, and deeply human.

The values we practice

We honour every individual, every resource, and every environment. Care begins with how we treat the world around us.

Excellence

We grow through reflection and effort. Always evolving. Always improving.

Compassion

We lead with empathy and trust. Every individual is seen and valued.

Joy

Learning feels meaningful and energising. A space where growth feels uplifting.

Equity

Every learner is supported differently. So each one can thrive fully.

Every student who completes their journey at Ekaaya leaves as

Three qualities, woven into one unique individual.
Three overlapping circles: a root system in ochre, leaf veins in olive, and growth rings in terracotta — all drawn as fingerprint ridges, converging at the centre into one single complete fingerprint

one more thing

What were you told to stop doing?

Every adult reading this was told to stop doing at least one of these. Tap the ones that were yours.

We won’t.

Those weren’t faults. That was a child, being a child.
